In 2003 the healthcare Consulting GmbH founded the network for Open Source solutions in healthcare industry in Germany.
We developed myCare2x first for German healthcare context and integrated most important modules quality-secured. Meanwhile we expanded internationaly.
The concept
Our network supports scientific institutions such as universities or non-governmental organization in their research, and companies from healthcare in merging their resources for development and support. The solution is open source. Any institutions of healthcare can become a network member and only pays for services.
In association with our partners we offer the supply, assistance in project planning and implementation, collaborative development and low-cost support.

Range of application
Due to the open source of myCare2x hospitals can deploy the solution without restrictions. So the in-house IT departments can modify the software to aim own requirements.
Mainly smaller hospitals benefit from it and can integrate solutions developed in the network. Due to the architecture of myCare2x it is also possible to realise hosting solution via the web.
Membership in the myCare2x network
Become a member and help us to bring myCare2x forward. We offer following levels of membership:
Universities and non-govermental research organizations
Universities and non-govermental research organizations which want to bring myCare2x forward with an own developer crew can become members for free. This is limited to a non commercial use of myCare2x by those organisation. And we expect results like new or enhanced modules. Only expenses for supply and possible services will arise.
Hospitals and physicians
By paying an annual amount these institutions become members and get access to the network's support. They can deploy the software.
Software houses, system integrators and consultants
This group pays an annual amount and rates from peformed services. Those fees improve the development of the software.
Supply of myCare2x
There is no public download of mycare2x in the web.
The core of our solution is Care2x, which can be downloaded at 
www.care2x.org.
We decided to distribute myCare2x to our network members exclusively.
The main reasons for this decision are:
- Protection of privacy It doesn't make sense to publish all parts of a complex HIS in the web for everbody's download. So we prevent unauthorized access to knowledge about workflow and operating procedures in hospitals.
- Continuity and integrity of development We want to provide a reliable and quality-secured solution. And we want to achieve this aim with the help of our partners and network members.
